Weekly “E-Blast” for Dec 9-13, 209

Dear Parents & Guardians, 

It was another great week here at St’a7mes School and I can’t believe we are ONLY 2 weeks away from Winter Break! 

We had lots of fun today at “Writing Day” as all Cultural Journeys students got to spend time with the LEx Leadership students writing cards to Santa and other friends and family members. 

Please find below important information for the upcoming weeks:

DECEMBER 9th-13th, 2019

WINTER GIFT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE will be once again hosted by our PAC and the Leadership Team on Tuesday, December 10th – Thursday, December 12th at lunch in libraryWe are now accepting donations of lightly used or new: accessories (jewelry, scarves, sun glasses) toys, books, and small household items (no clothing or shoes please) as well as wrapping paper and gift bags. We will sell these items to the students for $1 per item and gift wrapping will be available. This will give students a chance to shop for Christmas gifts for their family and friends. CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY CARE PICK UP is on Friday, December 13th.  Any donations of new toys or non perishable food is appreciated.

DECEMBER 16th-20th, 2019

WINTER TLA’ASHEN – please bring your family and join us on Thursday, December 19th from 4:00 – 7:00pm. If you arrive after 4:30, please use the gym doors accessible from the parking lot. Please bring a dish to share if you are able. We look forward to celebrating with you!

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR WINTER BREAK is on Friday, December 20th

WINTER BREAK is from December 21st – January 5thSchool will reopen on Monday, January 6thWe hope you enjoy a restful break with your family.

WEEKLY JAM SESSION – is held every Wednesday in the gym at lunch.

WEEKLY YOGA SESSION – is held every Thursday in the gym at lunch for Cultural Journeys students.

BOTTLE DEPOT FUNDRAISER  Please note that our school PAC has created a St’a7mes School account at the local bottle depot, so now you can help us fundraise by donating all your cans/bottles refunds directly to our school!

COMMUNITY INFORMATION:

YOUTH CENTRE NEWS: Looking for something free and fun to do on a Friday night? The Youth Centre is now open until 9 pm for late night activities EVERY FRIDAY. Head over for nachos, games, music and hang outs. All youth 12 to 18 are invited and its always free!

IN THE KNOW SESSION – Erupting Angst: Understanding the Collision between Anger and Aggression in the World of Anxiety. Held at the library on Monday, December 16 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Please see the attached poster for more information.

ATTENTION GRADE 12 STUDENTS AND PARENTS:

Grad Photo Retakes and Group Photos:  Grad photo retakes and group photos are scheduled for Friday, December 13. Grad retakes can be booked online at www.mountainwest.ca. Group photos cost $10/student and you must emailgrads@mountainwest.ca to sign up.
