KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION begins on Tuesday, January 22nd. Registration forms are available at the school office or on line at https://seatoskylearningconnections.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/cultural-journeys-registration-form.pdf
Grade 4-7 “3 on 3” BASKETBALL – Stawamus is taking part in the 3 on 3 basketball league for Squamish Elementary Schools. Basketball is open to students in grades 4 – 7. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15pm – 4:15pm, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 22nd. Games will start next Tuesday and replace the Tuesday practices. A permission form and game schedule will be sent home this week. Please ensure that your child has appropriate footwear, comfortable clothing and a water bottle.
ALICE LAKE FIELD TRIP – Ms. Lowe’s class will be visiting Alice Lake on January 22, 23 and 24 from 9:45am – 2:45pm each day to continue working on their hides at the long house. Please send your child prepared for the weather as they will be going rain or shine.
LOCKDOWN DRILL – will take place on Wednesday, January 23rd at 11:00am. Mr. Gordon will send additional information before the drill takes place.
ENGLISH 12 PROVINCIAL EXAM will be written on Thursday, January 24th from 9:00am – 11:00am, for those that have registered.
BUSSING CHANGE – There will be some minor changes to the bus service on Friday, January 25th, as Howe Sound Secondary has a Pro D day and doesn’t require bus service. They are as follows:
AM Routes – Students will be picked up as per usual however, there will not be any HSS students waiting at the bus stops.
PM Routes – the bus will leave Stawamus as usual and go to HSS, where it will transfer students to a buses going to Brackendale, Britannia and North Yards. Students will remain on the Stawamus bus to go to Garibaldi Estates and the Highlands. Fil Fulber our EA will be at HSS to facilitate the transfers.
SCIENCE WORLD FIELD TRIP – Ms. Lowe’s class will be going to Science World on Friday, January 25th from 9:00am – 3:00pm

OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP CLUB will be hiking in Valleycliffe on Wednesday, January 30th. Meet in the Library after school. Kristin will send home additional information soon.
SAFIRE SCIENCE IN THE CIRCUS is an Artstarts presentation that will take place at Valleycliffe Elementary on Thursday, January 31st from 1:15pm – 2:15pm and will be attended by Cultural Journeys students.
DENIM SPIRIT DAY – wear head to toe denim to show your school spirit on Thursday, January 31st.
PRO D DAY is on Friday, February 1st. School is not in session. This is a “Day in Lieu” for all teachers from their summer learning.

VALENTINES DANCE FOR GRADES 4, 5 AND 6 – This dance is hosted at Squamish Elementary and is open to all grade 4-6 students that attend Squamish Schools. For more information, please see the attached poster.
