Weekly Update – Oct 1-5, 2018

Good Afternoon,

Please see below important dates to keep in mind for the next few weeks:


MS. LOWE’S CLASS FISHING TO THE SQUAMISH VALLEY FISH CAMP on Tuesday, October 2nd from 10:45am – 2:45pm. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather and brings a hearty lunch and water bottle.

GRADE 6 IMMUNIZATIONS will take place on Wednesday, October 3 at 9:30am.

WHISTLER SISTERS IN SPRIT VIGIL – Learning Expeditions Social Justice Students will attend this event on Thursday, October 4th from 9:30 am to 2:30pm.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING – Students from grades 3-7 have the opportunity to compete in cross country running this fall. Practices will take place on Mondays at lunch and races are on Thursday afternoons. The first race will take place on Thursday, October 4th at 3:30pm at Garibaldi Highlands Elementary. Students must return the field trip forms that were given out last week, to Ms. Jenna for Cultural Journeys and to Daniel for Learning Expeditions. Students are responsible for getting themselves to and from the races.

LINDSEY AND MS. JENNA’S CLASSES TO THE SQUAMISH VALLEY FISH CAMP on Friday, October 5th from 10:30am – 2:00pm. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather and brings a hearty lunch and water bottle.


THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY is on Monday, October 8th. School is not in session.

LEARNING EXPEDITIONS TO THE SQUAMISH LIBRARY AND WORK BC on Tuesday October 9th from 11:00am – 12:00pm.

PAC MEETING will take place on Wednesday, October 10th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the Learning Expeditions classroom.

CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING RACE #2 will take place on Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at 3:30pm at Squamish Elementary.

GRAD PHOTOS – will take place from October 16-18th. Booking instructions will be sent home later this week.

DOUGLAS COLLEGE ADMISSIONS:  The application window for Fall 2019 admissions opens on October 1 at 8:30 am. This is important since many of their programs are first-qualified, first-admitted. Popular programs such as Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants fill up quickly – typically by 4:00 pm the day applications open. Applying early is crucial. Don’t miss out.
