Cultural Journeys Newsletter Sept 28

Hello Everyone,

This week was busy! We had Orange Shirt Day on Friday (had our performance on Wednesday) and participated in the Terry Fox Run on Thursday! Huge congratulations to the Cultural Journeys dance group as they travelled to all of the other schools to present at their Orange Shirt Day ceremonies. It was a huge honor and the kids really showed how dedicated they truly are.

October 2nd: Ms. Lowe’s class is going fishing – Please wear rain boots and rain gear. Prepare for rain and hope for sun!

October 5th: Ms. Jenna and Lindsey’s classes are going fishing – Please wear rain boots and rain gear. Prepare for rain and hope for sun!

Ms Lindsey’s Class: It was a busy week but the children still made it outside. We are looking at the patterns found in sound and trying to identify the ones that we hear every day in a forest.

Ms Jenna’s Class: We continued to look at watersheds this week. The students learned place names for the different streams and rivers that drain in the Squamish river (ask them about it!) and they will soon be learning about the rest of the water cycle.

Ms Lowe’s Class: They are almost done their probability arcade games and will hopefully let us try some of them out! Keep your eyes and ears open for a day where we might test the games that the kids are creating!
